TBM used for Virginia sewage treatment project is ready

The sewage treatment project in Alexandria, Virginia received the Herrick TBM used in the project. This TBM with a diameter of 4.47M will excavate a 3.2km waterfront tunnel, which will be responsible for collecting, storing and transporting the combined sewage and transporting it to the water treatment station for purification.
After the completion of the project, more than 120 million gallons of comprehensive sewage will be prevented from polluting the river every year. The average depth of tunnel construction is 30m. The expected completion time is July 2025.
